Pre-Licensed Therapist- What does it mean?
In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to be a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or LMHC, the following requirements need to be met:
Master’s Degree in mental health counseling or a related field
Complete post-master supervised clinical work
Pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination

Where am I in this process?
I graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
I recently began my second, and final year, of post graduate supervised clinical work.
Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination
Once I have completed all of my hours, I will apply for licensure.
